Hanna Kebinger joins Germany’s team for Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof

Hanna Kebinger has been included in Germany’s team for next month’s biathlon world championships in Oberhof, despite not meeting the national qualifying standard, said the German Biathlon Federation.

Hanna Kebinger, 25, performed very strongly in Sunday’s Biathlon World Cup relay event in Antholz-Anterselva, where the Bundesteam took third place. Coupled with Franziska Preuss’ decision to end her season early due to illness, the federation was left with no choice but to include Hanna Kebinger in the squad as a sixth man.

Denise Herrmann-Wick, Janina Hettich, Sophia Schneider, Vanessa Voigt and Anna Weidel are the others in Germany’s women’s team.

The World Championships in Oberhof will be held from February 8 to 19.
