Germany will open a training center for Ukrainian athletes for Paris 2024 Olympics

Germany will open an Olympic training center for Ukrainian athletes in preparation for international tournaments, including the Paris 2024 Olympics, accounted the country’s Foreign Ministry.

“Germany shows solidarity! This applies to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris”, said the German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.

The ministry statement also said that Ukrainian athletes would get “an easier way to prepare” for the upcoming events away from their homeland after Russia’s military invasion lasted more than a year.

Negotiations are currently underway with individual sports federations to specify the details of the preparation.

Many athletes from Ukraine have been training far from their homeland since the start of Russia’s war on Ukrainian territory, which began in February 2022.
