Marie Muller is a German footballer, who plays as a midfielder for SC Freiburg in the German Frauen Bundesliga. She also was called for the German youth national women’s football team to play at the Euro U17 Women, becoming the champion, and Euro U19 Women, winning the silver.
Marie Muller was born on July 25, 2000, in Dortmund, Germany. She started playing football at the Dortmund district club SV Westrich. She played also for VfL Bochum in the B-Junior Bundesliga, where she showed great technique and skills. In the summer of 2016, Marie Muller moved to the SC Freiburg B youth team, where developed her skills and gained experience.
She made her debut as a national player for the U15 national team on October 28, 2014, which won the friendly match against Scotland’s U15 national team 13-0 in Glasgow. After two appearances for the U16 national team in 2015, she played eleven international matches for the U17 national team in the following year, with whom she took part in the European Championships held in Belarus from May 4th to 16th, playing in all five tournament games, scoring two goals and won the European Championship with a 3-2 final victory on penalties against Spain’s U17 national team. In the U17 World Cup tournament held in Jordan in the same year, she and her team made it to the quarter-finals, which the Spanish U17 national team won 2-1.
Marie Muller moved to the senior team of SC Freiburg in 2017 to play in the German Frauen Bundesliga. On March 25, 2018, she debuted on the ground in the 6-0 win in the home game against Koln Frauen, coming on as a substitute for Klara Buehl in the 78th minute.
During her debut in the senior team, she was sent to gain more practice and experience in SC Freiburg II in the 2nd Bundesliga South and scored two goals. Meanwhile, she was called to the Germany U19 national team she took part in the European Championships held in Switzerland from July 18th to 30th, 2018, and made her debut for this age group in the first game of Group B in a 1-0 win over Denmark’s U19 national team. The final reached was lost 0-1 against the Spain U19, as was the final reached the following year 1-2 against the France U19.
At the end of the 2018/2019 season, she returned to the first team of SC Freiburg, appearing in 5 matches and scoring 2 goals, while the team finished 7th in the German Frauen Bundesliga.
