German Football Federation extended the contract of the head coach of the women’s national team

The German Football Federation extended the contract of the head coach of the women’s national team, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, until 2025.

“We had positive talks and discussed the specific technical aspects. But what is also very important to me is the human aspect. I felt that there is a close relationship between the two sides from the last few weeks”, said German Football Federation president, Bernd Neuendorf.

Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has been at the helm of the team since 2018. The German women’s national team crashed out in the quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup in France and failed to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. At Euro 2022, she led the German women’s soccer team to the final, where they lost 1–2 to hosts England after extra time.

“We look forward to the future and all that lies ahead”, said Martina Voss-Tecklenburg.

On July 24, Germany begins their World Cup campaign in Australia and New Zealand against Morocco. They are in Group H, which also includes Colombia and the Republic of Korea.
