Lia Flotow is a German track and field athlete, who competes in 100m and 100m hurdles. She is European U20 Championships bronze medalist and one of the biggest talents in the country.
Lia Flotow was born on August 19, 2004. She started in athletics as a kid and showed great results at the school and junior championships.
Lia Flotow started her competitive career in 2017 at the Neubrandenburg Sprintcup U15 in 200m. The next season, she already won the gold at the same competition and also competed at the Berlin Regional U20 Championships, winning the bronze in the high jump. Meanwhile, she won the gold at the Goteborg Varldsungdomsspelen in the high jump and the long jump.
In 2019, Lia Flotow already debuted at the junior national championships, finishing 4th in 100m at the Bremen German U16 Championships. Meanwhile, during the season, gold at the Schwerin Weihnachtssportfest and Neubrandenburg Landeshallenmeisterschaften U16/U20 in 60m, as well as the gold at the Rostock Landesmeisterschaften U14 bis M/W and the silver at the Hamburg Regional U20 Championships in 100m.
Lia Flotow started the 2020 season winning the 60m and 60m hurdles gold at the Neubrandenburg Landeshallenmeisterschaft U14/U18, but also took part at the Neubrandenburg German U20 Indoor Championships in 60m hurdles, but did not reach the final. During the outdoor season, she continues improving her results, winning the 100m hurdles gold at the Leipzig LAZ Sportfest and Neubrandenburg Nachwuchssportfest mit Qualifikationscharakter fur DJM.
In 2021, Lia Flotow missed the indoor season and competed only outdoors, winning the 100m hurdles gold and 100m bronze at the Goteborg Varldsungdomsspelen, as well as 100m hurdles gold at the Berlin OSC – Qualisportfest, Leipzig 30. Läufertag der SG MoGoNo, Abendsportfest 1.LAV Rostock, and Rostock German U18 Championships. She also competed at the German U18 Combined Events Championships in the heptathlon but did not win an honor.
In 2022, Lia Flotow made a wonderful season in 100m hurdles, winning the bronze at the Ulm German U20 Championships, and the gold at the Osterode 13. Internationales Sparkassenmeeting and finished 4th at the Mannheim BAUHAUS Junioren Gala. She again competed at the Filderstadt German U20 Combined Events Championships in the heptathlon, this time winning the silver.
Lia Flotow made her biggest achievement in 2023, winning the 100m hurdles bronze at the Jerusalem European Athletics U20 Championships. Meanwhile, she made her senior national championships debut, finishing 5th at the Kassel German Championships in 100m hurdles and 8th at the Dortmund German Indoor Championships in 60m hurdles. During the season, she won the 60m hurdles silver at the Dortmund German U20 Indoor Championships, and the 100m hurdles gold at the 42. Nationales Pfingstsportfest der LAV ZEVEN and Hamburg Norddeutsche Meisterschaften Jugend U20 / M/W15.
Lia Flotow won her first national honor in 2024, winning the 4x200m relay silver at the Leipzig German Indoor Championships, but also finished 7th in 60m hurdles.
