Gemma Dryburgh won the LPGA Tour Toto Japan Classic

Scottish professional golfer Gemma Dryburgh won the LPGA Tour Toto Japan Classic. She fires seven-under 65 in the final round to claim her maiden LPGA Tour title. The second in the tournament was Nagai Kana (Japan) with -16 par, notching eight birdies to one bogey. This third in LPGA Tour Toto Japan Classic remained Grant Linn (Sweden) with -15.

Gemma Dryburgh started the final day one shot behind 54-hole leader Momoko Ueda. However, she notched her first birdie of the day after making a 20-foot putt on No 4, and added her second on No 7 after putting it to three feet on the green. She took the lead at the turn after Momoko Ueda bogeyed No 9, but the real difference maker came at No 11, when Momoko Ueda made a double bogey to Dryburgh’s birdie.

“I was in Korea last week with friends and I said to them ‘I mention you in my speech’ as a joke. But it’s overwhelming to be honest”, said Gemma Dryburgh of claiming her first career LPGA title. “This has been a dream of mine for a long time. A lot of hard work has gone into this, so it means so much”, added she.

Gemma Dryburgh’s 268 is a new career-best 72-hole score for her.

Gemma Dryburgh has five professional golf wins, but this is her first LPGA Tour victory.
