Flying summer season start for Aleia Hobbs with 10.87 sec in the 100m

The American athlete Aleia Hobbs, who had an extremely good indoor season, also started the summer season with a very strong performance. She won the 100m sprint in Baton Rouge with a time of 10.87 sec (2.0 m/s) and topped the world rankings for the season. This is the fifth-best 100m finish of her career.

Aleia Hobbs is the North American indoor record holder for the 60m with a time of 6.94 sec set in February 2023, becoming the second-fastest woman of all time at the event.
