The women’s volleyball club Fenerbahce Opet won the first leg semi-final of the Women’s Champions League after defeating Vakifbank Istanbul by 3-0 (25:10, 25:23, 25:20)
The rematch between the two teams is on April 13th. Fenerbahce Opet needs only two games in the next match to qualify for the Superfinal in Turin. On the other hand, Vakifbank must win by 3-0 or 3-1 to reach at least the so-called “golden” game.
Above all for Fenerbahce was Melissa Vargas with 19 points (1 block, 3 aces and 56% success rate in attack – +14) and was fully deservedly named the MVP of the match. Ana Cristina de Souza and Arina Fedorovtseva added 13 points and 12 points for the win.
The Bulgarian volleyball player Hristina Vuchkova also made a strong match and finished with 5 points (2 blocks, 1 ace and 50% attack success rate).
For the Vakifbank Istanbul team, the only one at the level was the Italian star Paola Egonu with 17 points (1 block and 44% attack success rate – +7).
Yesterday, the Italian volleyball team Novara took a hard victory against their Turkish opponent Eczacibasi by 3-2 (25:23, 25:19, 20:25, 17:25, 16:14).
