World and Olympic medalist Femke Bol will make her debut at the international athletics tournament in Lieven on February 15, part of the World Indoor Athletics Tour with a “gold label”. World champion Gudaf Tsegay returns to the tournament where she set a world record in the indoor 1,500m.
Femke Bol won silver medals in the 400m and with the Netherlands’ 4x400m relay at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade last year, and then repeated the honors in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m medley at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene. At the beginning of March, the 22-year-old Femke Bol will defend her European titles in the 400m and 4x400m in Istanbul.
And while the Dutchwoman will make her first race in Lieven, Gudaf Tsegay will return to one of the tracks that have brought her the happiest moments of her career. The Ethiopian runner, who is the world indoor 1,500m champion, also won gold in the 5,000m and silver in the 1,500m at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene. In 2021, she set a world indoor 1,500m record of 3:53.09 min. The 25-year-old returned in 2022 there to win the mile in 4:21.72 min, and in 2023 she will make another test in the 1,500m.
Katie Moon and Keely Hodgkinson have already announced their participation in France earlier in the season.
