Femke Bol triumphed with 400m hurdles gold at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest

The European record holder Femke Bol triumphed with world 400m hurdles gold. The Dutch athlete, who on the first day in Budapest fell meters before the final in the 4x400m relay, recorded a partial comeback today and prevailed in 51.70 sec.

The American athlete Shamier Little took silver in 52.80 sec, while Rushell Clayton (Jamaica) earned bronze in a personal best of 52.81 sec.

Femke Bol is a Dutch track and field athlete who specializes in the 400m hurdles and 400m. She was the European Athletics Rising Star of the Year in 2021 and European Athlete of the Year in 2022. Femke Bol is the world record holder in the 400m indoor with a time of 49.26 sec, the European record holder in the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.45 sec making her the second-fastest woman of all time in the event, and the holder of five Dutch records in individual events and relays. She also has world best performances in the 300m hurdles and 500m indoor.
