Femke Bol improved her own 400m hurdles meeting record at Gala dei Castelli Bellinoza

World 400m hurdles champion Femke Bol improved her own meeting record in the event by more than a second to 52.79 sec, ahead of world silver medalist Shamier Little (USA) with 53.64 sec at the Gala dei Castelli Bellinoza, Italy. Competing in front of 5,752 enthusiastic spectators, Shamier Little also ran under the previous tournament record. The bronze from the event came to Cathelijn Peeters (Netherlands).

“It’s amazing to see the crowd so close to the athletes. I started my career in Bellinzona and it’s nice to be back here. I compete a lot, but I do it with passion and with a smile on my face”, said the happy Femke Bol after the race.

“I’m happy with my win as I achieved my season’s best in Zurich last week and improved it again. I want to continue this season and do more races”, said Elaine Thompson-Hera.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (Puerto Rico) won the gold in 100m hurdles with 12.56 sec with a new meeting record. Nadine Visser (Netherlands) earned the silver with 12.56 sec, while Nia Ali (USA) won the bronze with 12.63 sec.

In the women’s 800m, Natoya Goule-Toppin (Jamaica) won the gold with 1:57.53 min, following by Addison Wiley (USA) and Audrey Werro (Switzerland).
