The two-time European Athlete of the Year Femke Bol recorded the fourth fastest time in history in the 400m indoor event at the Gold Label’s Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais Trophee EDF of the World Athletics Tour event in Lieven. The world record holder in the discipline, who opened the season with 49.69 sec, this time lowered her achievement to 49.63 sec – the best result on the planet for 2024.
Femke Bol’s next event will be the Dutch Indoor Championships, where she set a world record of 49.26 sec last year.
The Dutch athlete will also compete at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow from March 1-3, where she hopes to build on her silver from the previous Planetary Forum in Belgrade in 2022.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever beat my own world record again, but the upside is that I’m still the world record holder. So I can just run for the medals”, said Femke Bol.
