Faith Kipyegon will attack the WR at 1,500m in the new season

Two-time 1,500m Olympic Champion Faith Kipyegon has set herself to improve the world record in the discipline next season.

“I was trying to improve the world record, but I continue to miss with a little difference. This time, I pray that everything will go the right way to get the record”, said the Kenyan middle-distance runner Faith Kipyegon.

At the Diamond League in Monaco, Faith Kipyegon failed to adjust the world record after winning by 3:50.37 min. The world record is 3:50.07 min on the Ethiopian Genzebe Dibaba.

Faith Kipyegon, however, managed to defend her Olympic title at 1,500m in Tokyo 2020 Olympics, becoming the second fastest woman in history.

Faith Kipyegon is a Kenyan middle-distance runner specializing in the 1,500m. She has won or finished second in every major championship since age 20 in 2014, and is regarded as the greatest female 1,500m runner in history.
