Multiple world and Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon (Kenya) considers trying new challenges next season after her total dominance in the 1,500m. Faith Kipyegon has three Olympic titles, a world record and three world titles, making her the greatest athlete in the history of the event. She also added the 2024 Diamond Trophy to her collection.
“Hopefully I can stay strong and healthy next year and see what I can do. I don’t know if I will run the 1,500m or move to the 5,000m, but I am hoping for the best next year”, said the Kenyan athlete.
Faith Kipyegon also admitted that she was motivated by other athletes such as Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Sifan Hassan to try new disciplines.
“I watched Jakob’s run in Copenhagen (his debut in the half marathon), I hope he will give me motivation so that I can run a half marathon. Sifan also runs half marathon, marathon and 1,500m and 5,000m, I say I want to try and I hope to do it”, added she.
Faith Kipyegon already has a world title in the 5,000m in Budapest last year, as well as silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the event.
