The Olympics 1,500m champion and Diamond Trophy winner Faith Kipyegon will continue the defense of her Diamond League trophy in Rome on August 30.
The Kenyan athlete will return to the event where she first broke the 1,500m world record in 2023, just a step on the way to the Diamond League final in Brussels (September 13-14).
After setting three world records in three different events last year, Faith Kipyegon continued her winning streak and won her third Olympic title in the 1,500m this year in Paris.
Her only Diamond League appearance in 2024 was also in Paris, where she broke her own 1,500m world record with 3:49.04.
Faith Kipyegon is the current world record holder for the 1,500m and one mile, and the former world record holder for the 5,000m. She also won a gold medal in the 1,500m at the 2017, 2022 and 2023 World Athletics Championships and in the 5,000m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships.
