Faith Cherotich won the 3,000m steeplechase gold at Diamond League Final in Brussels

Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Faith Cherotich (Kenya) defeated the last two Olympic champions in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Diamond League Final in Brussels. The Kenyan athlete prevailed with a result of 9:02.36 min. The current gold medalist from the Paris Games and world champion from Budapest 2023 Winfred Yavi (Bahrain) did not have the strength to fight for the first position and finished second with 9:02.87 min.

The Olympic champion from Tokyo and second from the Paris Games Peruth Chemutai (Uganda) completed the top three with 9:07.60 min.

Faith Cherotich is a Kenyan athlete who specializes in the 3,000m steeplechase. At the age of 17, she won the bronze medal at the 2021 World Athletics Under-20 Championships held in Nairobi. She upgraded her bronze to gold a year later, winning the title at the World U20 Championships in Cali. She is also Olympics and Worlds bronze medalist in the event.
