Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda focuses on the Glasgow World Indoor Athletics Championships 2024, pursuing her first global senior medal. She currently holds the world’s number two result in 60m and in 2019 she won European Indoor Championships 60m gold in the same arena.
“It’s a big event for me. I want to win a medal and a PB”, said Ewa Swoboda. “I like Glasgow. It’s also close to where my brother lives in Edinburgh”, added she.
During the indoor season so far, Ewa Swoboda won the titles at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze event in Lodz and then at the World Indoor Tour Gold events in Ostrava and Torun.
She clocked a then-world lead of 7.01 sec, her best time for two years. Later, Julien Alfred beat her time with the 6.99 sec she ran in New York.
Ewa Swoboda’s personal best (PB) is 6.99 sec, set in Torun in 2022.
“I (was) faster than the boys too and my teacher looked at me and she told my parents, ‘She must go to training’. And here I am, since 2009”, added she.
