Emma Raducanu continues her unappealable performance at the WTA 1000 Western & Southern Open and qualified for the third round after defeating Victoria Azarenka with 2-0 (6:0, 6:2) in 62 minutes.
The British talent, who is warming up before the defense of her title at the US Open, started the first set with a break and close it on zero. In the second set she took two early breaks, which was enough, and kept the lead by the end to close the set with 6:2 without giving any chance to her opponent.
In the next round, Emma Raducanu will face the 7th-seeded Jessica Pegula, who defeated Marta Kostyuk by 2-1 (6:7, 6:1, 6:2).
Elise Mertens also qualified for the next round after defeating Karolina Pliskova with 2-0 (7:6, 6:3). In the next round, she will face Caroline Garcia.
