Emma Navarro won the tournament WTA 250 Hobart International

The American tennis player Emma Navarro won the tournament WTA 250 Hobart International after prevailing in the final over the top-seeded Elise Mertens (Belgium) by 2-1 (6:1, 4:6, 7:5). Emma Navarro was second-seeded in the tournament and is ranked No 31 in the WTA rankings.

The match between the two tennis players, who had never met before, lasted 2 hours and 48 minutes. Elise Mertens had won the tournament WTA 250 Hobart International in 2017 and 2018.

The Belgian looks to be in a better position in this final as well, having led 5:4 in the third set before losing three games in a row.

The 22-year-old Emma Navarro won her first WTA title. Just a week ago, she was in the semi-finals of the tournament in Auckland. Navarro will face Wang Xiyu (China) in the first round of the Australian Open starting tomorrow.
