After winning the Eldoret City Marathon last year, Emily Chebet’s next race will be the Milan Marathon on April 2. She shared that she felt ready to compete again after recovering from an injury.
She was speaking during the ceremony where she received her prize money from last year’s Eldoret City Marathon. The money was delayed by nearly a year.
“Thank God we were finally paid after so long. At the moment, I am preparing for the Milan Marathon and I am looking forward to good results”, shared Emily Chebet.
Last year she won the Eldoret Marathon with a time of 2:29:58 hours.
Emily Chebet is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who specializes in 10,000m and cross-country running. She is a two-time winner of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, being the gold medallist in 2010 and 2013. Emily Chebet’s first medal was a bronze in the 10,000m at the 2006 African Championships in Athletics and she also ran in that event at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics.
