Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina won her first title after returning on the court last month. She defeated Anna Blinkova (Russia) by 2-0 (6:2, 6:3) at the final of the WTA 250 Internationaux De Strasbourg, triumphing with her 17th WTA title.
Elina Svitolina took an early lead in the first set after breaking the serve of her opponent twice. Anna Blinkova returned one of the breaks but this was far from enough and Elina Svitolina broke her again in the 9th game and closed the set with her serve game at 6:2.
In the second set, made three breaks in the beginning to take a lead of 4:1 and although the Russian player returned one of them, she close the set at 6:3.
This is 17th title for Elina Svitolina, who is a formed world’s No 3. She was out of the court for 1 year due to pregnancy and early maternity, but returned already last month and improving her form with every week.
Tomorrow, Elina Svitolina will start at the French Open / Roland Garros versus 26th-seeded Martina Trevisan (Italy).
Anna Blinkova has one WTA title, winning the WTA 250 Transylvania Open in 2022. She will start at the French Open / Roland Garros tomorrow versus Ysaline Bonaventure (Belgium).
