Top-seeded Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) won the title at the WTA 500 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open tennis tournament with a prize pool of 922,573 USD. The Kazakhstani tennis player triumphed with her seventh career title and second this season after defeating the seventh-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:4) in 71 minutes.
Elena Rybakina started the match strongly, achieving a break in the second game and took a lead by 2:0, but her opponent returned the break immediately. However, by the end of the set, the Kazakhstani tennis player won four games in a row with two more breaks to win it by 6:1.
The second set was quite more equal at the start with both players winning their serve games, although Daria Kasatkina needed to save two break points. The finalists exchanged two breaks each until 3:3 and again won one serve game each for 4:4. At the end of the set, Elena Rybakina succeeded to break again and won her serve game to win the set by 6:4 and thus to triumph with the title.
In her road to the final, Elena Rybakina eliminated Danielle Collins (USA), Cristina Bucsa (Spain), and Liudmila Samsonova (Russia).
Meanwhile, in the doubles final of the tournament Sofia Kenin (USA) and Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA) won the title after defeating Linda Noskova (Czech Republic) and Heather Watson (Great Britain) by 2-0 (6:4, 7:6).
