Elena Rybakina qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Adelaide International

The seventh-seeded Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Adelaide International after eliminating American Shelby Rodgers by 2-1 (3:6, 6:3, 6:2) in a match that lasted more than two hours.

The Kazakhstani tennis player managed to come back after losing the first set and eventually won to reach the semifinals. Shelby Rodgers, who in the previous round eliminated the sixth-seeded Maria Sakkari, led by 4:1 and closed the set after 40 minutes of play.

In the next two sets, however, Elena Rybakina won with confident play. She won 90% of the first serve.

In the semi-finals, Elena Rybakina will face the Japanese Misaki Doi, who eliminated the Slovenian Kaja Juvan by 2-1 (6:3, 4:6, 7:6).

“The service helped me a lot and I say it for the whole match. My game itself was on highs and lows. I tried to concentrate on each point, I got what happened. But in the end, I continue to the semifinals”, said Elena Rybakina.

Elena Andreyevna Rybakina is a Russian-born Kazakhstani professional tennis player. She has a career-high ranking of No. 14 by the Women’s Tennis Association. Rybakina has reached seven finals on the WTA Tour, winning two titles, including one at the Premier level.
