Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina is the first finalist of the WTA 1000 Miami Open. She defeated the 3rd-seeded Jessica Pegula (USA) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:4) and will play on the final of the Masters’ tennis tournament.

Elena Rybakina continues with her fantastic performance as last week she won WTA 1000 Miami Open and now will play for a second consecutive title at such rank. In the final at the WTA 1000 Miami Open, she will face the winner between Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) and Sorana Cirstea (Romania).

The match between Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula passed through several turnovers in the first set. The American broke the serve of her opponent already in the first game, but Elena Rybakina returned the break in the fourth game to equalize to 2:2. Jessica Pegula won another break and took a lead of 4:2 and in the 9th game, she has the opportunity to serve for the set. Elena Rybakina returned the break and stayed in the set, equalizing to 5:5. The American player made another break and reached a second opportunity to serve for the set, but this time lost her serve game on zero and thus the set entered into a tiebreak. Elena Rybakina won the tiebreak by 7-3 and thus took a lead in the result.

Jessica Pegula had a fly start to the second set after breaking her opponent and taking a lead of 3:0. However, she failed to keep the pace and Elena Rybakina overturn the result, giving only one game in the next seven games and thus closed the set by 6:4 and won the match.

Elena Rybakina is waiting for her opponent in the final and will compete for the second Masters’ title this season after winning WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open. The Kazakhstani tennis player is also the runner-up at the Australian open in January.
