Elena Rybakina climbed to a career-high WTA ranking of number 7

Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina climbed to a career-high WTA ranking of No 7 after winning the title at the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open. She defeated Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) in the final by 2-0 (7:6, 6:4) and rose by 3 positions in the world’s ranking.

Elena Rybakina is also the 2023 Australian Open runner-up and the 2022 Wimbledon champion. Thus, the Kazakhstani tennis player has 3,720 points.

Caroline Garcia (France) climbed by 1 position in the WTA ranking to No 4, returning to her career-high, despite losing in the third round of the WTA 1000 Indian Wells Open.

Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) fell by one position to No 5 after losing in the second round of the last week’s Masters tournament.

Leader in the WTA ranking remains Iga Swiatek (Poland) with 9,975 points, followed by Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) with 6,740 points and Jessica Pegula (USA) with 5.605 points.
