Elaine Thompson-Herah makes her first public appearance in 5 months

Olympic 100m and 200m champion Elaine Thompson-Herah (Jamaica) will make her first public appearance in five months. She will appear at a charity event in Miami on Friday. The Jamaican sprinter has not appeared in public since early June, when an Achilles injury ruled out her participation in a tournament in New York.

Earlier this year, Elaine Thompson-Herah split with his coach Reynaldo Walcott.

“I will be in Miami on Friday November 1st. Come and meet me and the rest of the athletes to support our Caribbean community”, wrote the Jamaican on Instagram.

Elaine Thompson-Herah is regarded as one of the greatest sprinters of all time, she is a five-time Olympic champion, the fastest woman alive in the 100m, and the third fastest ever in the 200m. She is the first ever female sprinter, and the second sprinter after Usain Bolt, to win the “sprint double” at consecutive Olympics, capturing 100m and 200m gold at the Rio 2016 Olympics, and defending both titles at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. A six-time Olympic medalist, she rose to prominence at the 2015 World Athletics Championships, winning silver in the 200m and, at the time, becoming the fifth fastest woman in history over the distance.
