After breaking Paula Radcliffe’s long-standing British 10,000m record, Eilish McColgan will be heading for her next challenge. The Briton will start in the New York Half Marathon on March 19 and will use this race as preparation for her London Marathon debut in April.
In New York, Eilish McColgan will face off against Helen Obiri, Molly Huddle, Senbere Teferi and Caroline Grøvdahl.
The Ethiopian middle- and long-distance runner Senbere Teferi holds the New York Half Marathon record with 67:35 min. Eilish McColgan is the British record holder with 66:26 min from last year.
Eilish McColgan is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000m champion with the Games record and 5,000m silver medallist. Eilish McColgan is a four-time European Championships medallist, winning silver medals for the 5000 m in 2018 and 10,000 m in 2022, bronze in the 5,000m in 2022, and a bronze for the indoor 3,000m in 2017. She is the European record holder for the 10km road race, and the British record holder for the 5,000m, 10,000m, 5km and half marathon. She also holds the European best in the 10 miles on the roads. Eilish McColgan also represented Great Britain at the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
