The representative of the hosts Eileen Gu won the Big Air Freestyle title at the debut of the Beijing 2022 Olympics.
The 18-year-old Eileen Gu, who was born and lives in the United States, scored 188.25 points after a very strong ride in the last third round, in which she progressed from fourth place to the top of the standings.
So she added significant new gold to her collection after triumphing at the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. She also has two world titles in the halfpipe and slopestyle.
The world champion from Park City 2019 Tess Ledeux from France finished second with 187.50 points.
The Olympic runner-up in the PyeongChang 2018 in slopestyle Mathilde Gremaud (Switzerland) led after the first two descents, but in the decisive third, she made many mistakes and in the end had to settle for bronze with 182.50 points.
The reigning world champion Anastasia Tatalina (Russian Olympic Committee) performed below her capabilities in all three heats and remained tenth with 122.50 points.
