Brazilians Eduarda “Duda” Santos Lisboa and Ana Patricia Ramos, the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Champions, won the women’s final at the World Beach Volleyball Championships in Rome.
Eduarda “Duda” Santos Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos defeated Sophie Bukovec and Brandie Wilkerson (Canada) with 2-0 (21:17, 21:19) to win the sixth world title for Celesao.
In the match for the bronze medals, Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalists Joana Heidrich and Anouk Verge-Depre (Switzerland), who are 22nd-seeded, played really well against Svenja Muller and Cinja Tillmann of Germany and advanced in the result, which led to a victory with 21:16 in the first game and a lead of 10:7 in the second. At that moment, however, Joana Heidrich injured her shoulder. It was impossible for her to continue playing and the Swiss team was forced to miss the match.
So Svenja Muller and Cinja Tillmann won the bronze medals.
