Dutch athlete Pauline Hondema

Pauline Hondema is a Dutch athlete, who competes in the long jump. She is a three-time national champion and has a personal best of 6.76m.

Pauline Hondema was born on March 28, 2000. She showed great skills in athletics as a kid and although being a good sprinter, focused on the long jump.

Pauline Hondema started her competitive career in 2016, finishing 4th in the long jump at the Apeldoorn Dutch U18 Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she won the gold at the Dronten Dutch U18 Club Championships and the silver at the Breda Dutch U18 Championships, before finishing 4th at the Amsterdam Dutch Championships and missed the medals for a while.

In 2017, Pauline Hondema earned gold medals at the Amsterdam Dutch Club Championships, Den Haag Dutch U18 Club Championships, and Vught Dutch U20/U18 Championships, but at the Utrecht Dutch Championships finished only 7th.

Pauline Hondema continued gaining experience in 2018, winning the silver at the Apeldoorn Dutch U20 Indoor Championships and Amsterdam Dutch Club Championships, as well as the gold at the Emmeloord Dutch U20 Championships. She competed at the Apeldoorn Dutch Indoor Championships and the Utrecht Dutch Championships, but again missed the medals.

Pauline Hondema long jump

Pauline Hondema earned her first national medal in 2019, winning the bronze at the Apeldoorn Dutch Indoor Championships, but reaching the 6-meter mark. Meanwhile, she earned the gold at the Dutch U20 Indoor Championships and Alphen aan den Rijn Dutch U20 Championships, as well as the bronze at the Klaverblad Arena Games, but also competed at the Ter Specke Bokaal in Lisse, Harry Schulting Games in Vught, and Gouden Spike in Leiden.

In 2020, Pauline Hondema earned another bronze at the Apeldoorn Dutch Indoor Championships, jumping 6.03m. During the outdoor season, she won the silver at the Utrecht Dutch Championships with a personal best of 6.09m. Meanwhile, she won the silver at the Next Generation Athletics ism Nijmegen Atletiek and the bronze at the Gouden Spike in Leiden.

Pauline Hondema European team championships

Pauline Hondema made a very strong 2021 season, winning the silver at the Apeldoorn Dutch Indoor Championships with a personal best of 6.41m, while during the outdoor season, she won the bronze at the Breda Dutch Championships and the silver at the Cluj-Napoca European Athletics Team Championships First League. She also won the silver medals at the Ter Specke Bokaal in Lisse, the Harry Schulting Games in Vught, and T-Meeting in Tilburg. She competed at the Tallinn European Athletics U23 Championships but finished 10th in the final.

In 2022, Pauline Hondema won her first national title, triumphing with the long jump gold at the Apeldoorn Dutch Championships, but also earned the silver at the Apeldoorn Dutch Indoor Championships. She earned the gold at the Harry Schulting Games in Vught and Ter Specke Bokaal in Lisse, as well as the bronze at the Gouden Spike in Leiden. She competed also at the FBK Games in Hengelo but finished only 7th.

Pauline Hondema long jump personal best

Pauline Hondema started very strongly in the 2023 indoor season, winning the gold medals at the Apeldoorn Dutch Indoor Championships, improving her personal best to 6.48m, and IFAM Gent Indoor, as well as the bronze at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting Dortmund. During the outdoor season, she defended her national outdoor long jump title by winning the gold at the Breda Dutch Championships. She won the gold medals at the Gouden Spike in Leiden, P-T-S meeting 2023 in Banska Bystrica, and IFAM Oordegem in Oordegem, where jumped 6.53m. Pauline Hondema competed at the Budapest World Athletics Championships but did not qualify for the finals although jumping a personal best of 6.57m.
