Femke Bol is a Dutch track and field athlete who specializes in the 400m hurdles and 400m. She is the Tokyo 2020 Olympics bronze medalist in the 400m hurdles with the current European record of 51.45 sec. She is the world indoor record holder with a time of 49.26 sec, beating the longest-standing at the time track world record.
Femke Bol was born on February 23, 2000, in Amersfoort, Netherlands. She started training judo initially but later moved to athletics.
Femke Bol focused on the 400m events in 2015 and started winning Dutch competitions in her age categories. She won five national youth titles in the 400m (out- and indoor) between 2015 and 2017, and four junior titles in 2018 and 2019 (400m out-, indoor and hurdles).
At the European Championships Femke Bol won three gold medals at 2022 Munich – at 400m, 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay.
At the European Indoor Championships, she won gold at 2021 Torun in 400m and 2x400m relay. At the 2023 Istanbul European Indoor Championships she won the gold at 400m and 4x400m relay.
At the World Championships, Femke Bol won two silver medals at 2022 Eugene in 400m hurdles and 4×400 m mixed.
At the World Indoor Championships, she won two silver medals at 2022 Belgrade in 400m and 4x400m relay.
Definitely, her biggest success was the bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Also, she won the Diamond League in 2021 at 400m hurdles.
Her personal bests are 52.03 sec (Tokyo 2021) at 400m hurdles and 49.44 sec (Munich 2022) at 400m.
