Donna Vekic qualified for the quarterfinals of Wimbledon

Donna Vekic (Croatia) qualified for the quarterfinals of Wimbledon after defeating Paula Badosa (Spain) by 2-1 (6:2, 1:6, 6:4) in a little more than an hour and 40 minutes of play. The match was stopped several times due to the rain in London, which upset the game of both.

Donna Vekic made two breaks in the first set and comfortably won 6:2. However, Paula Badosa was better in the second set, taking a 3:0 lead, then taking he opponent’s serve once more to win the set by 6:1 and equalize the sets.

The third set started with 2:0 for Donna Vekic, but Paula Badosa returned the break and made it 2:2. The Croatian tennis player led 5:4 and managed to win the serve of Paula Badosa in the tenth game, which guaranteed her success.

Donna Vekic was the more aggressive of the two on the court, making twice as many winning shots – 27 to 14. However, the Croatian was also more nervous and committed many more informed errors – 29 to 16.
