Dominican Olympic athlete Ana Jose Tima has been banned for three years for doping, announced the World Athletics Federation’s Disciplinary Committee said.
All of the athlete’s results since January 2022 have been voided, including her 10th place at the Eugene World Athletics Championships held last year.
The 33-year-old athlete is disqualified until January 2025. The sanction was supposed to be for four years, but it was reduced to three, because the athlete confessed to the use of doping.
Ana Jose Tima tested positive in her home country last November for ostarine, which promotes muscle growth and has anabolic steroid effects.
Ana Lucia Jose Tima is a triple jumper from the Dominican Republic. She competed at the Rio 2016 Olympics in the women’s triple jump, but her result of 13.61m in the qualifying round did not qualify her for the final. She improved her mark to 14.11m at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but was again unable to qualify for the final.
