Distria Krasniqi is the world’s best judoka in the category up to 52 kg

Distria Krasniqi (Kosovo) is the world’s best judoka in the category up to 52 kg. This shows the latest ranking of the International Judo Federation, according to which the Kosovo judoka has collected 7,275 points, leaving behind the British Chelsie Giles with 7,100 points and Diyora Keldiyorova (Kazakhstan) with 6813 points and Uta Abe (Japan) 6,800 points.

Distria Krasniqi is an Olympic medalist from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but also has many European and world medals. Her coach Driton Kuka told that the announcement that Distria Krasniqi as the best in the world comes after her successive successes in international competitions.

“After Tokyo, Distria Krasniqi entered a new category and had many results. In December she won the gold medal at the World Masters and then the gold medal at the Paris Grand Slam and many other medals. She recently came fifth at the World Championships and all these results put her at the top of the world rankings in the 52 kg category”, said Driton Kuka.

Distria Krasniqi is a Kosovar judoka. She received a gold medal in the women’s 48-kg judo competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In August 2021, she was awarded the Honor of the Nation Decoration of Albania by the President of Albania.
