Dina Asher-Smith opened the winter season with an excellent result. The British female athlete started in the 60m at the 50th edition of the athletics tournament in Jablonec and won in the final with 7.09 sec, just 0.03 seconds from Asha Philip’s national record.
Second in the 60m indoor sprint in Jabonec remained Sarah Leahy with 7.32 sec and third was Karolina Manasova with 7.34 sec.
In the series, Dina Asher-Smith finished in 7.18 sec.
This Friday, the British female athlete will start in Karlsruhe, where much more serious competition awaits her in the form of Ewa Swoboda and Mujinga Kambundji.
Geraldina “Dina” Rachel Asher-Smith is a British sprinter. She won a gold medal in the 200m, silver in the 100m and another silver in the 4x100m relay at the 2019 World Championships, breaking her own British records with further records which still stand. Dina Asher-Smith was the first Briton to win three medals at a World Championships. She earned a bronze in the 200m at the 2022 World Championships.
