Dina Asher-Smith cruised to a convincing victory in the 100m at the Lausanne Diamond League

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith cruised to a convincing victory in the 100m at the Lausanne Diamond League. The 200m world champion won the 100m race in Switzerland with 10.88 sec(-0.4 m/s).

Tamari Davis (USA) finished second in 10.97 sec, while home representative and two-time European 200m champion Mujinga Kambundji finished third in 11.06 sec.

“It’s always great to be in Switzerland, the Swiss public is so warm and welcoming. After the Olympics I took some time to refocus and now I’m just enjoying running, feeling fit and healthy. I am excited to push on in the next two races in Silesia and Zurich, where the track and atmosphere were amazing. Plus there’s always chocolate there”, said Dina Asher-Smith after her win at the Lausanne Diamond League.

Dina Asher-Smith is the British record holder for the 100m and 200m and the British indoor record holder for the 60m. Asher-Smith has been listed in the Powerlist as one of the UK’s most influential people of African-Caribbean descent, most recently in the 2021 edition.
