Diana Shnaider won her first WTA Tour title in Hua Hin

Diana Shnaider (Russia) won her first WTA Tour title. The 19-year-old Russian tennis player won the event WTA 250 Thailand Open in Hua Hin after defeating the second-seeded and defending champion Zhu Lin (China) by 2-1 (6:3, 2:6, 6:1)

Before the start of the tournament, the teenager was winless since the start of the season, but on her way to the title she managed to outplay the top-seeded Magda Linette (Poland), the second-seeded Zhu Lin and the third-seeded Wang Xiyu (China)

In the final against Zhu Lin, Diana Shnaider took the first set in 44 minutes, converting two breaks from two opportunities.

However, the second seeded Chinese equalized the result in the second set, after at the end of the set won four consecutive games. However, this did not give her the necessary momentum in the game and in the decisive third set Diana Shnaider gave her rival only one game. The Russian was again 100% on the break opportunities, making three breaks from only three opportunities.

The prize pool of the WTA 250 Thailand Open tournament is 267,082 USD.
