Daria Kasatkina (Russia) won the title of the WTA 500 Ningbo Open hard court tennis tournament with a prize fund of 922,573 USD. In the final, the fifth-seeded Daria Kasatkina defeated her 17-year-old compatriot Mirra Andreeva by 2-1 (6:0, 4:6, 6:4) in a match that lasted an hour and 55 minutes.
The trophy is the eighth in Daria Kasatkina’s career and the sixth at the WTA 500 level, as well as the second in 2024.
The Russian tennis player will return to the top 10 in the women’s world rankings.
After winning the first set 6:0, Daria Kasatkina trailed 1:4 in the second set. She equalized for 4:4, but Mirra Andreeva took the next two games and the set respectively with 6:4.
In the decisive third set, Daria Kasatkina had to make up for a 0:3 deficit, but turned it around to 5:3 and rejoiced after a successful 6:4 on her first match point.
