Daria Kasatkina advanced to the final of the WTA 250 Adelaide International 2

The 5th-seeded Russian tennis player Daria Kasatkina advanced to the final of the WTA 250 Adelaide International 2 after her opponent Paula Badosa walked over from the semi-final match due to a right thigh injury.

Thus, Daria Kasatkina will face on the final the winner between Belinda Bencic (Switerland) and Veronika Kudermetova (Russia).

On the road to the final of the WTA 250 Adelaide International 2, Daria Kasatkina defeated the 2021 French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova and the two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova.

Paula Badosa is still looking ahead to playing at the year’s first Grand Slam, the 2023 Australian Open, which begins on Monday in Melbourne.

“I’m really disappointed that I had to withdraw today because I was really looking forward to the match. Yesterday when I was playing against Beatriz Haddad Maia, it was a very tough match, especially physical, so I felt a little bit in my abductor. I felt like I pulled it a little bit”, said Paula Badosa. “Today I feel a little bit worse, so yeah, I have the Australian Open ahead, and I hope I can recover for that”, added she.
