Danka Kovinic continues her good performance at the WTA 250 Lyon Open

Danka Kovinic continues her good performance at the WTA 250 Open 6e Sens Metropole de Lyon after qualifying for the tennis tournament. The seventh-seeded Montenegro tennis player defeated Anna Bondar (Hungary) by 2-1 (4:6, 6:2, 6:3) in a match that lasted 2:11 hours.

The match started perfectly for the Hungarian player, who took the first set after two breaks against only one for her opponent. Anna Bondar kept the pace in the second set and started with an early break, which gave her a comfortable lead. However, Danka Kovinic returned the break in the fourth game and won the next 4 consecutive games to close the set at 6:2.

The third set started equally for both players. They won their serving games and only in the 8th game Danka Kovinic succeeded to break the serve of her opponent taking a lead of 5:3. She served for the match and despite losing the first two match point, succeeded to close it on the third and win the set by 6:3.

In the next round, Danka Kovinic will face Alycia Parks (USA), who defeated the fourth-seeded Petra Martic (Croatia) by 2-1 (2:6, 7:6, 6:2).

In the other match of the day, the fifth-seeded Anastasia Potapova (Russia) took a hard victory over Clara Burel (France) by 2-1 (6:4, 4:6, 6:3).
