Sofie Bredgaard is a Danish football forward who plays for FC Rosengard of Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, as well as the senior Denmark national team.
Sofie Bruun Bredgaard was born on January 18, 2002, in Frederiksvaerk, Denmark. She started playing football at an early age in her hometown’s local football club. As a youth, she played also for Melby-Liseleje IF, Hillerod Fodbold and BSF.
In 2017, Sofie Bredgaard joined B 93 from BSF. She spent a period training with Manchester City and passed the quick academy course with the British team. The following year she made her professional debut and her first goal – scored for B 93 on her debut in a 2–2 draw with Odense Q. She played one season for the team of B 93 and had 7 appearances and one goal.
In July 2020, Sofie Bredgaard signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Linköpings FC to play in the Swedish Damallsvenskan. For the team she played 32 matches and scored 2 goals.
In 2022, Sofie Bredgaard signed with FC Rosengard on 31 March, the final day of the transfer window. The team is the current Damallsvenskan champion and Cup holder.
Sofie Bredgaard played for Denmark U17 (15 appearances and 1 goal) and Denmark U19 (6 appearances and 1 goal), before winning her first cap for the senior Denmark national team in April 2022. She debuted in a 2–0 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification Group E win over Azerbaijan at Viborg Stadium. She entered play as a 77th-minute substitute.
