Danielle Williams won the 100m hurdles title at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The Jamaican athlete claimed her second world title since Beijing 2015 in the 100m hurdles after winning the gold medal in 12.43 sec (-0.2m/s). She left Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (Puerto Rico) one hundredth behind with 12.44 sec, while American athlete Kendra Harrison took the bronze with 12.46 sec.

The reigning Oregon 2022 world champion and world record holder Tobi Amusan, who was allowed to compete in Budapest, was sixth in 12.62 sec.

Danielle Williams is a Jamaican track and field athlete specializing in the 100m hurdles. She won two medals at Summer Universiades, bronze in 2013 and gold in 2015, and represented her country at the 2013 World Championships. Danielle Williams has personal bests of 12.32 sec in the 100m hurdles (2019) and 7.75 sec in the 60m hurdles (2022).
