Marie Bouzkova is a Czech professional tennis player, who won one singles title (at the 2022 Prague Open) and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as 12 singles and 3 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Considered one of the most talented players, her career-high WTA singles ranking of No 24 on December 12, 2022.

Marie Bouzkova was born on July 21, 1998, in Prague, Czech Republic. She began playing tennis at a club owned by her parents in Prague. She moved to Florida at the age of 10, initially trained at Bollietieri Academy for two years. During her junior career, Marie Bouzkova won the 2010 Euroregion Nisa Cup, 2011 TCF Purum Marianske Lazne, 2012 J60 Guatemala \ Copa Universidad Galileo, 2012 J4 Doha \ Qatar ITF Junior Open, and 2013 J300 Casablanca \ Mediterranee Avenir, was the runner-up at the 2011 The American Cup, and reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 Junior Orange Bowl. In 2014, she achieved her biggest success winning the title of the Junior US Open.

Marie Bouzkova made her professional debut in 2013 at the $25,000 Zlin (Czech Republic), but lost in the first round. By the end of the season, she played also at the $10,000 Prague (Czech Republic), reaching the second round.

In 2014, she won her first professional title at the $15,000 Hilton Head Island, SC (USA). During the season, besides winning the Junior US Open, she also reached the semi-finals of the $10,000 Amelia Island, FL (USA) and $10,000 Gainesville, FL (USA).

Marie Bouzkova made her WTA debut in 2015, playing in the main scheme of WTA 250 Abierto Mexicano TELCEL Presentado Por HSBC, but lost again in the first round. By the end of the season, she won the titles at the $10,000 Grand Baie La Croisette (Mauritius) and $10,000 La Possession (Reunion Island).

In 2016, Marie Bouzkova continue gaining experience at the ITF Circuit, winning the titles $10,000 Petit Bourg (France), $25,000 Cuernavaca (Mexico), $10,000 Monzon (Spain) and $10,000 Puszczykowo (Poland). At the end of the season, she started playing mostly in the higher-rated ITF tournaments, facing more serious opponents.

In 2017, Marie Bouzkova started the season by reaching the semi-finals of the $60,000 W60 Burnie (Australia), before winning the titles at the $25,000 Perth (Australia) and $15,000 W15 Orlando, FL (USA). By the end of the season, she reached the quarter-finals of the $100,000 Astana (Kazakhstan) and the semi-finals of the $60,000 $60,000 Granby (Canada), as well as finished as a runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Monzon (Spain) and $25,000 Stillwater, OK (USA).

Marie Bouzkova made her Grand Slam debut in 2018, playing at the US Open. However, she lost in the first round but showed her great talent. During the season she took part at the WTA 250 Abierto GNP Seguros, as well as the WTA 125 Oracle Challenger Series, but again lost in the first rounds. At the ITF Circuit, she won the titles at the $25,000 W25+H Irapuato (Mexico) and reached the semi-finals of the $80,000 Astana (Kazakhstan) and $80,000 W80 Macon, GA (USA).

Marie Bouzkova made her breakthrough in 2019, starting the season by reaching the second round of the WTA 500 Brisbane International and reaching the final of the WTA 125 Abierto Akron Zapopan. She also played in the main scheme of the French Open / Roland Garros and Wimbledon, before making great success reaching the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open / Rogers Cup. By the end of the season, she also reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open and the second round of the WTA 1000 Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open, as well as won the title at the $80,000 W80 Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan).

In 2020, Marie Bouzkova played her first WTA final at the WTA 250 Abierto GNP Seguros but lost to Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) in three sets. During the season she also reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 The Top Seed Open presented by Bluegrass Orthopaedics and the third round of the WTA 1000 Western & Southern Open.

Marie Bouzkova had another chance for winning a WTA title in 2022, playing her second final at the WTA 250 Phillip Island Trophy, but again lost in three sets. She reached the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Abierto Akron Zapopan, as well as the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Rothesay Classic Birmingham and WTA 250 BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open.

In 2022, Marie Bouzkova finally won her first WTA title at the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open. However, before that, she lost again the final at the WTA 250 Abierto Akron Zapopan. During the season she had another great achievement, reaching the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open Akron. Thus, during the season she achieved her career-high WTA singles ranking of No 24.

In 2023, Marie Bouzkova continues playing in top-rated tournaments quite successfully. She reached the third round of the WTA 1000 Rome Open and the fourth round of Wimbledon.
