Amalie Svabikova is a Czech pole vaulter athlete, who is a bronze medalist from the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Istanbul. She competed also in the women’s pole vault at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics.
Amalie Svabikova was born on November 22, 1999, in Kadan, Czech Republic. She started in athletics from an early age. She took part in the Junior World Championship in 2018, becoming a champion with a new national junior record. She is also a European U23 champion and European U23 silver medalist.
Amalie Svabikova holds a total of five national records in lower age categories across track and indoor. She is one of the top pole vaulters in the country winning the main national championships and being the best athlete in the country.
She made her official international debut in 2013 at the Budapest CRO-CZE-SLO-SVK-HUN U16 Match, finishing second.
In 2016, she took part in the Bydgoszcz IAAF World U20 Championships but finished only 7th. The same season she took part at the Ostrava Czech Indoor Championships, finishing 4th, just a step from the podium.
In 2017, Amalie Svabikova won the title at the Innsbruck International Golden Roof Challenge and finished second at the Trinec Czech Championships and Praha Czech Indoor Championships. The same season she took part at the London IAAF World Championships in Athletics and Golden Spike Ostrava 2017 but did not win a medal.
Amalie Svabikova won the titles at the 2018 Tampere IAAF World U20 Championships. During the season she won also the Kladno Czech Championships and Linz Gugl Indoor Meeting.
In 2019, Amalie Svabikova won the silver at the Czech Championships and European U23 Championships in the pole vault, as well as the gold at the Czech Indoor Gala.
She continue her perfect performance in 2020, winning the Memorial Josefa Odlozila in Praha, as well as the Czech Championships. However, in 2021, she was second at both competitions, reaching the bronze at the Czech Indoor Gala.
In 2022, Amalie Svabikova won the bronze at the 61st Golden Spike and the Czech Championships. She also won the bronze at the Memorial Josefa Odlozila in Praha and Memorial Borisa Hanzekovica in Zagreb. During the winter season, she won the Czech Indoor Championships and took part in the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrad, but finished only 9th.
Amalie Svabikova reached her biggest achievement so far at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul, finishing 3rd. Earlier, she won the Czech Indoor Championships and was second at the Czech Indoor Gala 2023.
