Natalia Tomic is a Croatian volleyball player, who plays for as an outside hitter the French elite club Pays d’Aix Venelles and the Croatia women’s national volleyball team. She is a 2021/2022 CEV Cup bronze medalist with HAOK Mladost, as well as a gold medalist in FIVB Challenger Cup 2022 and bronze medalist in European Golden League 2022 with the Croatian national team.
Natalia Tomic was born on January 4, 2002, in Rijeka, Croatia. She is the daughter of Gordana Jurcan-Tomic, who was one of the best Croatian volleyball players and a member of the national team, who played at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, and Kristijan Tomic. Natalia Tomic started in volleyball during her childhood and became of the most prospective and talented players in the country. She trained with ZOK Rijeka junior team and debuted for the junior national team already in 2016, playing at the European Championship Qualification U19. Later, during her debut for the Croatian senior team, Natalia Tomic becomes the youngest member of the national volleyball team in history.
Natalia Tomic started her professional volleyball career in ZOK Rijeka in 2017. She had a very important role in Rijeka’s return to the Croatian League. In her maiden season in the elite, the team finished third in the 2017/2018 Croatian League, with her recording an average of 12.00 ppg, as well as 5th in the 2017/2018 Croatian Cup, with her recording 5.40 ppg. The Same season she was called for the senior women’s national volleyball team for the World Grand Prix 2017. During the next season, Natalia Tomic and ZOK Rijeka won the silver at the 2018-2019 Croatian Cup, with her recording 9.60 ppg. At the Croatian League, her team finished 5th, and her ranking was 10.00 ppg.
In 2019, Natalia Tomic signed with HAOK Mladost for three seasons. Initially, she started playing in the second team to gain experience before moving to the senior team, which won three Croatian League titles in 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2021/2022. Also, she won the Croatian Cup in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021. With the volleyball club, she competed also at the MEVZA, CEV Cup, and Champions League, winning the bronze at the CEV Cup 2021/2022.
Meanwhile, internationally, Natalia Tomic won the gold at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2022, recording 30.00 ppg, and bronze at the European Golden League 2022, recording 15.00 ppg, with the national volleyball team of Croatia. She competed also at the Mediterranean Games 2022 and the World Championships 2022.
In 2022, Natalia Tomic moved to France and signed with the French elite club Pays d’Aix Venelles. In her maiden season with the club, she won the bronze at the French Cup 2022/2023, recording 15.00 ppg, and finished 7th in the French Ligue A, with her recording 14.40 ppg. She also played at the Women’s CEV Cup 2022/2023.
Natalia Tomic is one of the most talented and prospective young volleyball players in Croatia.
