MMA superstar Cris Cyborg will return to boxing on December 10 when she fights Gabrielle Holloway (0-2) in Nebraska as a warm-up bout before Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan.
Cris Cyborg vs Gabrielle Holloway is scheduled for four rounds at lightweight. In her boxing debut earlier this year, Cris Cyborg defeated Simone da Silva by a convincing unanimous decision – landing clean right jabs, pressing forward and finishing Simone da Silva with a cannonade of strikes to the ropes.
“This is a great opportunity for me to make a splash in the boxing world, especially on the card with Terence Crawford, the best boxer in the world”, said Cris Cyborg, who will be making her US debut in the ring. “Boxing has always been a big part of my training and I feel I can compete at the highest level. I expect Holloway to be in great shape and I know she will come out to win. I take this fight very seriously. I feel confident and can’t wait to show my boxing skills to the world”, added she.
Gabrielle Holloway also has a background in MMA. She recently fought in Bellator, and like the Brazilian, joins Terence Crawford’s warm-up bouts against Avanesian to cement her place in boxing – facing a proven fighter like v.
“I’m looking forward to testing my skills against a legend in combat sports, I’m coming fully prepared, the motivation is high, we’re going to steal the show, we’re the real main event”, said Gabrielle Holloway.
