Coco Gauff qualified for the third round of Wimbledon

Cori Coco Gauff (USA) recorded a routine victory in the second round of Wimbledon. The second-seeded American player prevailed by 2-0 (6:2, 6:1) over the qualifier Anca Todoni (Romania). Cori Coco Gauff did not allow a break in her serve and won the match, which lasted 67 minutes.

The 20-year-old American opened the match with a break, followed with another in the fifth game and then she had no trouble closing out the set.

Cori Coco Gauff was even more convincing in the second part. She started with a break again and until the end left no chance for the 19-year-old Anca Todoni, who made her Grand Slam main draw debut on Monday. In the second set, the American women’s tennis star lost only two points on her serve.

Earlier in the day, Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) defeated Magda Linette (Poland) in a postponed match from the previous day by 2-1 (7:5, 6:7, 6:3), while Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) eliminated Magdalena Frech (Poland) after 2-0 (7:5, 6:3) and Katie Volynets (USA) won her match versus Maria Lourdes Carle (Argentina) by 2-0 (6:2, 7:5).

Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) had a tough match in the first round versus Veronika Kudermetova (Russia), but finally won by 2-1 (7:6, 6:7, 7:5) after 3:19 hours of play.

British tennis talent Sonay Kartal continue writing her history at Wimbledon, reaching the third round, after defeated Clara Burel (France) by 2-1 (6:3, 5:7, 6:3). In the third round, she will face the second-seeded Cori Coco Gauff (USA).
