Chelsea Women topped the England Women’s Super League standings after defeating West Ham United Women

Chelsea Women topped the England Women’s Super League standings after defeating West Ham United Women as a visitor by 4-0. Chelsea Women is leader with 52 points, followed by Manchester United WFC by 50 points and Arsenal WFC by 47 points, just two rounds before the end of the season.

Niamh Charles gave a lead for the visitors Chelsea Women in the 13th minute, which formed the score in the first half, despite 5 more goal attempts for the team. In the second half, Chelsea Women continue dominating on the ground and scored three more goals by Pernille Harder (48′), Sophie Ingle (64′), and Erin Cuthbert (90′).

In another match of the day, Arsenal WFC defeated as a visitor the hosts Everton Women by 4-1 with four goals in the first half. The Gunner ladies took a strong lead for only 13 minutes in the first half, to secure the victory. Caitlin Foord (29′ and 39′), Katie McCabe (33′), and Carlotte Wubben-Moy (42′) scored for Arsenal WFC, while Katja Snoeijs returned one goal 4 minutes before the end of the match.

Arsenal WFC overtook Manchester City WFC in the standings and now is 3rd.

The next 21st round of the England Women’s Super League is during the weekend, when Chelsea Women will host Arsenal WFC in the most significant challenge for the title, as their last match is against the last in the standings – Reading Women. Manchester United WFC will host Manchester City WFC is the city derby.
