Chelsea Women overturned Liverpool Women by 2-1 keeping chances for the England Women’s Super League title

Chelsea Women overturned Liverpool Women by 2-1 (1-1) in a match from the England Women’s Super League in front of 1600 fans at Kingsmeadow Stadium.

Emma Koivisto gave a lead to Liverpool Women already in the 2nd minute after assistance from Natasha Dowie. Niamh Charles equalized in the 41st minute and formed the 1-1 result in the first half.

Despite the pressure of Chelsea Women and the nine goal attempts, the team failed to score due to a good job of the Liverpool Women’s defense. However, a late goal by Samantha Kerr in the 86th minute gave the 3 points to Chelsea Women.

Thus, Chelsea Women registered a second consecutive win and now is third in the standings with 43 points, just a point from the second Manchester City WFC and the leader Manchester United WFC. However, Chelsea Women are 2 matches less than their opponents for the title.

The next match for Chelsea Women is on May 7th versus Everton Women.
