Caty McNally advanced to the second round of the WTA 250 ATX Open

Caty McNally advanced to the second round of the WTA 250 ATX Open in Austin, USA. The American tennis player defeated the qualified Ashlyn Krueger with 2-0 (6:4, 6:3) in 1:37 hours.

Both players started the match with breaks in the first three games, as Caty McNally took a lead. She then defended the break after winning her serve game, but Ashlyn Krueger equalized in the sixth game after returning the break. However, in the 9th game Caty McNally registered another break and served for winning the first set. This time she was perfect and won on 15 to close the set at 6:4.

Caty McNally took a lead of 3:1 in the second set and even missed three break points to take another break. However, Ashlyn Krueger won her service game and even broke her opponent to equalize to 3:3. Caty McNally made another break immediately and closed the set at 6:3, thus winning the match.

In the second round, Caty McNally will face the fourth-seeded Danielle Collins.
